One of four asistencias (sub-missions or satellite missions) operated by the Alta California missions. Established by Fr. Antonio Peyri in 1815 as a branch of Mission San Luis, Rey de Francia; dedicated June 13, 1816. Named for St. Anthony. Damaged by 1899 earthquake. Restored and deeded to Church in 1903 by the Landmarks Club, which had purchased it from a private owner.

  • Rebuild outside wall of cemetery
  • Re-roof mission southeast wing
  • Repair all mission walkways

From I-5: Exit CA-76 east toward I-15. Travel on CA-76 approximately five miles east of I-15. A turnout to the asistencia is clearly marked with a sign. (San Diego County)
